Legion Riders
Ride with purpose—support veterans, raise funds, and represent Post 328 on the road.
The American Legion Riders (ALR) are one of the fastest-growing and most visible programs within The American Legion. With more than 425 chapters nationwide and new groups forming each month, Riders support a wide range of causes — from veteran assistance to youth and community programs — all while sharing a love of riding and service.
what do the riders do?
American Legion Riders are dedicated to honoring veterans, supporting families, and strengthening communities. Their activities include:
Raising thousands of dollars each year for the American Legacy Scholarship Fund, which helps the children of fallen service members.
Participating in national events such as Rolling Thunder, the annual POW/MIA Rally held each Memorial Day weekend in Washington, D.C.
Organizing and joining local charity rides to support VA hospitals, veterans in need, children’s programs, and community relief efforts.
Founding and supporting the Patriot Guard Riders movement, which honors and protects the sanctity of military funerals and memorial services.
Forming motorcycle honor guards and ceremonial teams to represent the pride and unity of both veterans and riders.
Promoting motorcycle and driver safety education in partnership with organizations like ABATE and other national motorcycling groups.
The Riders are a dedicated family within the Legion — combining passion for motorcycling with service to others. When a Post sponsors a Riders chapter, it strengthens the entire Legion family and creates new opportunities for outreach, fellowship, and community impact.
